WMA provided consulting services for the renovation of two existing buildings at Garrett Theological Seminary’s Evanston Campus. The first project was Loder Hall, which is a four story, 35,000 square feet dormitory. The building included typical residence space, a cafeteria, catering kitchen, private dining, bookstore, student center, etc. The basement was renovated to include a student lounge, classroom, offices, storage, mechanical support spaces, etc. All new HVAC, plumbing, and electrical facilities were installed throughout, as well as a new elevator. Loder Hall was awarded LEED Gold certification.
The other building in the project is Lesemann Hall, which is a three-story plus basement addition to the main Garrett Building. Lesemann is approximately 8,600 square feet and included offices and a study area. A new elevator was installed for access to the first and second floors. A new fire pump for Garrett was installed under a separate project. This project also included providing sprinklers throughout the building as well as all new HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
