WMA provided MEP/FP Systems design services for a number of separate projects all at Columbia College’s building at 1104 S. Wabash Avenue, which have been combined into a single project. The building is an 8 story building of approximately 175,000 square feet. Improvements included: exterior storefront and entry replacement, exterior façade repainting, renovation of 1st floor Conaway Center and Mezzanine, miscellaneous classroom upgrades on 4, 5, and 6 floors, Central Heating Plant replacement, replacing existing gas fired steam boilers with new high efficiency hot water boilers, replacing the existing one pipe steam distribution system with a new two pipe hydronic system, 1st and 2nd floor HVAC system replacement.
• Remove 9 existing air cooled DX constant volume systems serving the first and second floors.
• Provide new air handling units, VAV with all new duct distribution, chilled water cooling coils and hot water heating coils.
• Provide new roof mounted air cooled chiller.
